PCB Examples

Most PCBs are now largely surface mount, particularly so for new designs, but we still carry out some through hole designs where the project demands this. The extreme example of this might be the reverse engineering of system critical complex wire wrap boards which have been heat damaged beyond repair.

All our PCB layout design work is done using Easy-PC, a package we began using when it still ran under MS-DOS6. It is a budget priced package, but with performance to almost match more expensive packages. We began using the WorkView / Viewlogic (now rebranded as DxDesigner) software suite for schematic capture and logic simulation almost at our inception, so continue to use it for schematic capture as it produces excellent looking schematics — well at least we think so. We have written in-house software to convert any extracted Viewdraw netlist to Easy-PC format for subsequent layout using the Easy-PC package

Here are some examples of PCBs we have designed and sourced for our customers. If you want to source substrates yourself, you will be hard pushed to find a better UK supplier than Cambridge Circuit Company Ask for Mark.
